Boiler feed water


Boiler feed water (sometimes also called ultrapure water) is water that needs to be as close to absolute purity as possible in order to absorb heat. Depending on the boiler pressure, the treated water may undergo a simple ion exchange or it may pass through an advanced double-pass reverse osmosis system followed by electrodeionization. Feeding low-quality water to a boiler can cause serious problems if not immediately detected and corrected. FupengWater engineers can assist you in evaluating the system needed for your boiler feedwater application.


Boilers heat water, causing it to evaporate into extremely hot steam. Impurities such as minerals and gases in the water can reduce the efficiency of this process, wear out the generator that absorbs the evaporated water, and corrode equipment that comes in contact with it. Therefore, it is critical to ensure that the boiler feedwater is as pure as possible.

FupengWater's reverse osmosis systems can achieve this purity. When a single RO system cannot achieve the required purity, a FupengWater deionization unit can be better used in conjunction to achieve the purest water quality. For high-pressure boiler applications, we recommend a two-pass reverse osmosis system followed by electrodeionization (EDI).

Water Cooling

High-purity water has the ability to absorb a lot of heat, so it can both carry heat away from the generator and bring heat back to the generator. Many types of electric motors and generators generate a lot of heat during operation, enough to damage the generator from the inside out. Just like a car's radiator, high-purity water can absorb heat and remove it, preventing damage to the generator.

Condensate Polishing Systems

Condensate polishing systems are an effective water treatment strategy designed to save electricity, energy and chemical costs. The system is also used to extend the life of boiler equipment and improve performance. It works by reducing impurities in the condensate return water that can damage expensive boiler equipment. Condensate polishing systems feature an ion exchange polisher that uses a specially designed resin for high heat applications.
