TSS pollution characteristics and control requirements

TSS concentration in industrial wastewater is usually 200-2000mg/L (up to 5000mg/L in food/printing and dyeing industries)

Discharge limit: primary standard ≤70mg/L, centralized sewage treatment plant ≤20mg/L

UV disinfection interference threshold: when TSS>15mg/L, the transmittance decreases by 40%

Three-stage cascade treatment process

1. Primary physical and chemical treatment

High-efficiency coagulation and sedimentation system (PAC/PAM composite addition, G value gradient control)

Surface load of inclined tube sedimentation tank 0.8-1.0m³/(㎡·h)

TSS removal rate>85% (when the influent is 500mg/L)

2. Core filtration technology

Ultrafiltration membrane separation system

Polyvinylidene fluoride hollow fiber membrane (MWCO 50kDa)

Transmembrane pressure difference ≤ 0.15MPa, flux 50-80LMH

Water sand content of effluent < 1NTU

Deep media filtration

Multi-layer graded filter media (anthracite + quartz sand + garnet)

Filtration rate 8-12m/h, backwash intensity 13L/(㎡·s)

3. Precision solid-liquid separation

Automatic plate and frame filter press (feed pressure 0.8MPa)

Sludge moisture content reduced to below 60%

Centrifugal dehydrator solid recovery rate > 95%

Key process control points

Coagulant optimization:

Aluminum coagulant effective pH 6.0-7.2

Iron coagulant effective pH 4.5-5.5

Membrane pollution prevention and control:

Air-water combined backwash (0.25MPa, 45min interval)

Chemical enhanced backwash (0.1% sodium hypochlorite + 0.5% citric acid)

Specific industry solutions

Food wastewater: cyclone flotation + drum filtration (TSS reduced from 3000mg/L to 50mg/L)

Printing and dyeing wastewater: catalytic ozone oxidation + fiber bundle filtration (90% simultaneous removal of chromaticity)

Electronic wastewater: tubular microfiltration + ion exchange resin (meeting pure water preparation requirements)

Engineering implementation verification indicators

Filtered water SDI value <3 (core indicator of reverse osmosis inlet water)

Ultraviolet disinfection effective dose ≥30mJ/cm² (TSS≤10mg/L guaranteed value)

Sludge settling ratio (SV30) <20% (biochemical system pre-control indicator)
