紫外线杀菌在紫外线 UV- C 波段内，其中250-270nm 范围杀菌最强。 由于汞的共振谱线为2537A，紫外线杀菌灯能产生254nmR 的紫外线，使细菌和病菌 DNA 和 RNAVT 产生变性，其细胞 DNA 及结构被破坏，细胞再生无法进行，从而达到水的消毒和净化。 而波长185nm 的谱线还可以分解水中的有机物分子，产生氢基自由基并将水中有机物分子氧化为二氧化碳，达到去除 TOC 的目的。 所有管道式、明渠式紫外线装置配备自清洗装置。

Ultraviolet sterilization is most effective within the UV-C band of ultraviolet light, particularly in the range of 250-270nm. Due to the resonance spectral line of mercury being 2537A, UV sterilization lamps can produce UV radiation with a wavelength of 254nmR, causing denaturation of bacterial and viral DNA and RNA. This results in the destruction of their cellular DNA and structure, preventing cell regeneration and thus achieving water disinfection and purification. The spectral line with a wavelength of 185nm can also decompose organic molecules in water, generating hydroxyl radicals and oxidizing the organic molecules into carbon dioxide, thereby achieving the purpose of removing TOC. All duct-type and open-channel UV devices are equipped with self-cleaning devices.
